Hey there! Hope all is well. Today’s hang out is from me to me, but I hope you receive something from it also.
For years I have heard people say the change starts in your mind. However, I still go after things the same way and wonder why it doesn’t work. My actions show my perseverance and tenacity, but my thoughts say you are not qualified for this, and you will fail. And guess what, I don’t do as well as I could because my thinking STINKS! As the saying goes, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” I will admit, I’ve been insane. That’s over for me now. While it is a new year, I have already been working on changing my mindset. In 2021 I am now kicking it into high gear. No, we don’t need a new year on the calendar to set goals, but there’s nothing wrong with being inspired to go even harder because there is a new day in front of you.
It’s January 1, 2021! You made it, girl! Last year challenged you in so many ways, and that doesn’t even include Corona. Yeah, that was pretty bad too, but life was already throwing you some curveballs before that decided to rear its ugly head.
You’ve gone through some things in your home, with your marriage and your family. There were days you thought this might be the thing that breaks us. With all we’ve survived, I’m not sure we can continue after this. Oh, but God and a renewed mind. You begin to tell yourself the exact opposite. When you felt it was the end, you reminded yourself how strong you are and how no weapon formed against you shall prosper. You remembered that you could do all things through Christ who strengthens you. You got rid of that stinkin’ thinkin’, and things began to turn around.
When you saw the positive outweighing the negative, you realized that people were right! The way you thought about situations was causing you to lose, not the actual circumstance itself. Honey, when that really sunk in, you knew it was time to move differently. You started writing your goals and ideas down and started seeing things happen! Girl! Why did it take you so long to figure this out? You know what. It doesn’t even matter because you got it now, and you’re about to kill it! Everything that you set your mind to IS going to come to pass.
I am proud of you and all that you’ve accomplished thus far. I am so looking forward to what you are about to tap into this year. Keep writing the vision, tell yourself that you can do it, and watch God make things happen!
Love ya girlie,
Until next time, I’ll leave you with this. You are never going to get to that next level if you don’t change your mindset. Everything literally begins in the mind before you can see anything come to pass. Believe it, speak it, write it, and then watch it manifest. Is there something you want to do or see this year, but you know you need to change the way you think about it before it will happen?

You are right – a lot of the things we do are mental. I wish you success for this next year. Keep rocking it!
Absolutely! A new mindset makes for greater opportunities. Thanks so much! Sending the same love back to you!
Toni, this was very encouraging. There is always room for us to evaluate what our mindset is. I am reading MINDSET, The New Psychology of Success, by Carol S. Dweck PH. D. It’s an awesome book!
That is a Great letter to yourself! I am proud of you too girlie! ❤️
Thanks Ma! Glad you enjoyed this post and thanks so much for reading. That sounds like a good book that I may have to borrow after you finish!
That’s such a beautiful letter to yourself! Congrats on kicking 2020’s butt, and good luck for the challenges to come.
Thanks so much, Shelly! Wishing you nothing but success too!
Yes this is so true. I believe we have the ability to bring things into existence good or bad. Have a blessed day.
Absolutely! What we think and say is very powerful. You have a great day as well!
