Tired of the Same Old Date Nights?
There’s nothing wrong with a typical date at the movies or a night out for dinner. However, sometimes you need to be a little more creative or spontaneous. This is especially recommended when you’ve been together for a long time. You want to change it up a bit so things don’t become boring and monotonous. I have the perfect solution to spruce up date night and make it an experience.
Try Getting Down and Dirty With Your Mate!
Yea, I know you saw the heading and thought I was really about to go there. Nah, it’s not what you think, but still worth the read. When I say down and dirty, I’m speaking of clay and pottery. If you’ve never tried a pottery class, I highly suggest it. Prepare to get dirty, so don’t go dressed to the nines. Toss on some jeans and maybe even sweats that you don’t mind getting clay on. It will come out in the wash, however, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

I booked a class for my husband and I because it’s something that piqued my interest many years ago. Tell me you didn’t feel the same after watching Ghost too?! I’ll wait! You know Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze made you want to have that same Unchained Melody experience. I took things up a notch by inviting other couples which made the experience even more fun. Get several different personalities together, and have them dirty things they’ve never done before. It gets wild man!
It was a very cool experience. The location allowed us to BYOB, and we also came in a little earlier to eat before the class began. Some couples purchased fast food, and I also provided jarcuteries (mason jars filled with snacks). Check those out here.

Date Night That Improves Teamwork and Communication
Not only were we able to date our partners, but we practiced our teamwork and communication skills. The first half of the class, you watch the instructor create amazing art, then you make your own creation. The second half you or your partner are blindfolded while you’re giving direction, or are being directed. Your communication, listening skills, teamwork, and willingness to follow directions is extremely cruciat at this point. Your final product will show you exactly how well you two do in this area. Let’s just say some of us might need some improvement, but I won’t call names. LOL!

Do you think you and your partner would enjoy a pottery class date night?
Until next time, I’ll leave you with this. Check around for a pottery studio in your area. Find out if they offer couples classes. If you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area, Quiggly’s Clayhouse has a Couples Down & Dirty Wheel Class. You can purchase this class individually, or set up a group date as I did with other couples. If this is not a typical date for you and your significant other, try making it a surprise. My husband didn’t have a clue about what we were doing until we pulled up to the site. Your partner may not appear to be interested, but hopefully they will be willing to give it a try. After it’s over I believe they will appreciate and truly enjoy the overall experience. Have you ever attended a pottery class? If so, please share your thoughts below.
Thanks for hanging out with me!
Super fun date! I remember trying pottery before and it was very hard. Haha.
I can definitely see how challenging it would be, but the date and blindfold made it more fun I suppose. LOL!
This is lovely! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful experience. I did pottery at school and that was enough for me 😂
Absolutely! Thanks for reading. Lol, you may enjoy it again as an adult and with your partner. 🤷🏽♀️🤣🤣
