Take a break if you have to, but just don’t quit!
Ever feel like you’ve come to a plateau? Like you don’t have anything left in you to keep going? Well, you’re not alone! Sometimes, it happens to the best of us. More often than not, but a lot of us won’t speak about it. It can seem embarrassing, and too difficult to share. We fear being ridiculed or judged.
However, this is someone’s reality on a regular basis. If this is you, don’t fret! Just take a step back, or a step down. Break away, detox, and take a moment to regroup. As the well-spoken Sarah Jakes Roberts recently stated, “You don’t have to be afraid of starting over. You’re not starting from scratch. You’re starting with power.” It’s okay to take a break, so you can start fresh.

Start over, begin again, but don’t give up!
Take the time you need to gather yourself. Study your craft a bit more, but plan your break so that it has an end point. Give the break an expiration date. If not, you’ll find yourself never starting again. You will end up quitting without realizing it. Then you’re back at square one. You have to talk yourself into getting back into the saddle, or you’ll list every excuse as to why you can’t.

Do things on your own time.
Don’t allow anyone to tell you that you cannot take a break. Don’t let them make you feel less than for needing to do so. Make the best decision for yourself and your mental health. Seek professional help if that’s what it takes to get your mind right, then get your head back in the game. Start over again with the power you’ve already been given, and be even better than you were before.

When was the last time you allowed yourself to take a break?
Until next time, I’ll leave you with this. A break is a pause. A pause is a temporary stop. Temporary is lasting for only a limited period of time, not permanent. Remember that it’s okay to have a break and when you give yourself the grace to do so, it’s a courtesy you deserve.
Thanks for hanging out with me!
These last few weeks! I normally work during the Summer, but THIS Summer I have done absolutely nothing!
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Enjoy your time. 👏🏼🙌🏼👊🏼
